Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 6 to 8 ounces sliced bacon (6-8 slices, chopped)
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 can (16 ounce) pork and beans
  • 1 can (15 1/2 ounce) great Northern beans
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook the bacon in large skillet until crisp. Remove bacon with slotted spoon; set aside. Drain skillet, reserving drippings in skillet.

  • Step 2: To the same skillet, add green pepper and onion to skillet; cook 3 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally, add garlic, cook another 1-2 minutes..

  • Step 3: Add in remaining ingredients; simmer 20 minutes, on low heat stirring occasionally.

  • NOTE: Substitute 1/2 cup Real Bacon Bits for cooked chopped Bacon
