Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 can (15.25 ounce) tomato sauce (divided- use Hunt's Seasoned Tomato Sauce for Meatloaf)
  • 2 tablespoons firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 1/2 pound ground beef (90% lean)
  • 1/2 pound sausage meat
  • 1 medium yellow onion (fine chopped)
  • 4 cloves garlic, fine chopped
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup bread crumbs (dry, unseasoned)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons season salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F. Combine half of the seasoned tomato sauce, brown sugar and parsley in small bowl; set aside.

  • Step 2: Mix beef, sausage meat, onion, garlic, eggs, bread crumbs, seasoned salt, pepper and the remaining seasoned tomato sauce in medium bowl; blend well. Form into 8 oval loaves. Place in greased 13x9-inch baking dish.

  • Step 3: Bake, uncovered, 20 minutes.

  • Step 4: Remove from the oven and drain the fat in the pan. Spoon remaining sauce mixture over each meat loaves; bake 5 minutes more. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
