  • The following recipe serves 5 people.

Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds sweet onions (4-5 medium size onions), cut in half and thin sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Onions ... Add the butter to a medium saute pan on medium heat. Add the onions, salt and brown sugar and cook on medium heat for 5 minutes. Don't let the onion brown or burn, and stir often. Then reduce the heat to medium low and cook low and slow for 30-40 minutes until the onions are a deep brown caramel color.

  • Step 2: Finish ... The last minute of cooking, add in the cider vinegar and season with pepper if you want. ENJOY!

  • Step 3: Note: They last a good week or longer in a mason jar or tupperware type of container in the refrigerator. I have frozen them as well. The texture does change a bit; but, still quite good.
