  • 3 tablespoons lard (oil)
  • 1 yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, smashed
  • 6 ounces chopped carrots (2 carrots)
  • 10 ounces parsnip (2 parsnips, chopped)
  • 2 celery stalk,chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 4 cups chicken stock
  • 3 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 pound sliced mushrooms
  • 3 cups chopped potatoes
  • 3 cups chopped tomatoes

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oil.

  • Step 2: Fry onions, bell pepper,and celery.

  • Step 3: Add carrots and parsnips, add paprika. Cook slowly (can use crock pot for this).

  • Step 4: Add meat, then brown.

  • Step 5: Add stock, cook until meat is tender 2 hours.

  • Step 6: Then add potatoes and mushrooms and mustard. Cook 30 minutes more.
