Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 package (1 pound) bulk sausage meat (Jimmy Dean sausage, regular flavor)
  • 1/4 cup yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups whole milk (or light cream)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Biscuits
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Brown sausage with onion, mashing the sausage down with a potato masher while cooking to break into small, finer pieces. Remove from pan and set aside.

  • Step 2: Add butter to the same pan over medium heat. Once the butter has melted add flour, stirring until fully incorporated. Slowly pour in whole milk or light cream whisking constantly to break up any lumps. Continue to whisk over medium heat until gravy begins to thicken, coating the back of a spoon.

  • Step 3: Add sausage back into the gravy. Stir in Old Bay seasoning. Season with salt and pepper. Serve over your favorite biscuits.
