Step 1: Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
Step 2: Beat shortening and sugar together until fluffy.
Step 3: Add eggs and vanilla, and beat well.
Step 4: Combine mixtures and mix well.
Step 5: Divide dough into six portions.
Step 6: Leave one portion plain.
Step 7: Mix ingredients for one of the variations into each of the other portions.
Step 8: Shape each portion into a roll.
Step 9: Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm, at least 1 hour.
Step 10: Preheat oven to 375°F.
Step 11: Slice dough very thin.
Step 12: Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
