Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 cup whole kernel corn
  • 1 cup spinach (thawed)
  • 1 yellow onion (sliced into moon shaped rings)
  • 8 ounces dry rice (1 cup dry, I use basmati)
  • 2 black peppercorns
  • 1 small cinnamon stick
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 green cardamoms (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Warm the oil. Add peppercorns, cinnamon, cardamom,cloves. Stir for a minute.

  • Step 2: Add onions& turmeric and fry for 2 minutes (I made certain to remove the cinnamon and cloves before I added the spinach and corn, but left in the peppercorns).

  • Step 3: Add the corn, spinach and salt and mix well, then add rice. Mix again.

  • Step 4: Add 2 cups of hot water, thenlet it come to a boil.

  • Step 5: Put a lid and let cook on very low heat for 20 minutes.
