Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 (16 ounce) French baguette bread (long stick)
  • 13 ounces mozzarella cheese
  • 16 ounces Roma tomatoes (4 tomatoes)
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Fresh basil (to garnish)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 450°.

  • Step 2: Soak 4 wooden skewers in water for 10 minutes (can use metal).

  • Step 3: Cut bread into thick slices, and cut mozzarella into 12 slices.

  • Step 4: Slice tomatoes into 3 slices each.

  • Step 5: Combine oil, lemon juice, oregano and seasoning in a shallow dish.

  • Step 6: Brush both sides of bread with oil, thread bread onto skewers, alternating with mozzarella and tomato and finishing with bread.

  • Step 7: Pour any remaining oil over kebabs.

  • Step 8: Place kebabs on a baking sheet, cook for 6-8 minutes, turning halfway through, until bread is crisp and cheese has melted.

  • Step 9: Serve garnished with basil.
