Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 18 mini pita pockets (Cut in half)
  • 1/4 cup butter (or margarine)
  • 1/2 cup white onion, finely diced (sweet onion)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 8 bacon slices (cooked cooled and crumbled)
  • 1 small tomato, finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup jalapeno peppers, finely chopped ( or a small 4 1/2 ounce jar of garlic and jalapeno puree)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook bacon, cool and crumble

  • Step 2: Cut mini pitas in half with scissors or sharp knife

  • Step 3: In bowl microwave butter and onions until soft (about 2 minutes)

  • Step 4: Add cream cheese and blend with mixer until creamy, fold in crumbled bacon, tomato and peppers, stuff into the halved mini pitas

  • Step 5: I put them on a cookie sheet heating through in a 350 oven, makes for a marvellous hot appetiser. Also excellent at room temperature
