Step 1: Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Step 2: Line 3 rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 3: Using an electric mixer in a large bowl beat the butter until smooth. Add sugar and salt, beating until blended. Beat in the orange peel and then the eggs one at a time. Stir in coconut.
Step 4: Drop batter onto sheets, 1 tablespoon at a time, spacing 1 1/2 inches apart.
Step 5: Bake one sheet at a time until golden and bottom and browned in spots (25-30 minutes). Cool completely on the baking sheets.
Step 6: Using a fork drizzle chocolate over the macaroons. Chill on the sheets until the chocolate is firm (30 minutes)
