Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound cooked pasta
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 large garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2 cans (14 1/2 ounce) diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • Fresh basil leaves (torn, 10 leaves)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a sauce pan, heat olive oil over medium high heat. Add onions and saute until translucent (5 minutes). Add garlic and stir well for 30 seconds.

  • Step 2: Add tomatoes with liquid and sugar to pot and bring to a boil. Simmer until the sauce has thickened slightly, stirring occasionally (20 minutes).

  • Step 3: Stir in the basil. Toss with the cooked pasta and serve immediately.
