Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 5 pounds potatoes (baking potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks, recommend Yukon Gold potatoes)
  • 1 1/2 cups butter (softened, salted butter)
  • 1/2 cup 2% milk (2% milk or better)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add the potato chunks. Keeping the water at or just under a boil, cook potatoes until they are soft enough that a fork moves easily through them (30-40 minutes).

  • Step 2: Carefully drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.

  • Step 3: Add the butter and milk to the potatoes. Using an electric mixer, blend the potatoes into a whipped mixture that is not too lumpy. Some lumps are ok and necessary.

  • Step 4: Add salt and pepper, to taste, and give the potatoes a last stir. Serve immediately.
