Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 pound squid
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped yellow onion
  • 12 ounces tomatoes (2 tomatoes)
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 bay leaf

How to Make

  • Step 1: Clean squid.

  • Step 2: Chop tomatoes.

  • Step 3: Crush garlic.

  • Step 4: Slice onion.

  • Step 5: Combine water, vinegar, pepper, sugar, salt, bay leaf and half of the garlic.

  • Step 6: Marinate squid in this mixture for 1 hour.

  • Step 7: Drain squid, keeping the marinade.

  • Step 8: In pan, saute onion, remaining garlic and tomato in the oil.

  • Step 9: Add drained squid. Saute until juice evaporates, about 10 minutes.

  • Step 10: Strain marinade. Add to squid mixture. Simmer 15 minutes.
