Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup yellow onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 12 ounces vegetable juice cocktail (1 can)
  • 8 ounces whole tomatoes, peeled, cut up, undrained (1 can)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1/2 ounce pasta shells (1/3 cup small shells)
  • 2 teaspoons chicken bouillon granules
  • 2 teaspoons parsley flakes, dried
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil, crushed
  • 3/4 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
  • Hot pepper sauce (10 drops)
  • 1/2 pound cod fish, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1/2 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 6 1/2 ounces clams, minced, undrained (1 can)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a heavy 3 quart saucepan over medium heat, saute' onion, celery and garlic in butter for 5 minutes.

  • Step 2: Stir in vegetable juice, tomatoes with juice, water, tomato paste, macaroni, bouillon granules, parsley, basil, thyme and hot pepper sauce.

  • Step 3: Bring to a boil and boil for 4 minutes.

  • Step 4: Add the shrimp and cod.

  • Step 5: Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 8 minutes or until fish is opaque and macaroni is tender.

  • Step 6: Stir in clams with liquid and lemon juice.

  • Step 7: Heat through.
