  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cubed, at room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice (fresh squeezed)
  • 4 shallots, minced
  • 4 bay leaves (fresh is best)
  • Salt & freshly ground black pepper

  • Step 4: Discard the bay leaves and serve right away with crusty bread.
