Step 4: Cover with water and boil until cooked.
Step 5: Adding more water to make a full pot.
Step 6: Add diced onion, potato, carrot, turnip and sweet potato and simmer until tender.
Step 7: Season broth with salt and pepper to your taste.
Step 8: Serve with bannock
