Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 50 garlic cloves
  • Boiling water
  • 1 jalapeno pepper (chopped)
  • 6 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 6 ounces sausage meat (spicy, at room temperature)
  • 6 ounces mild sausage meat (at room temperature)
  • 2 1/4 cups baking mix (buttermilk baking mix)
  • 12 ounces shredded cheddar cheese (sharp, at room temperature)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 325°F.

  • Step 2: Place garlic cloves in boiling water. Blanch 3-4 minutes. Drain. Peel and set aside.

  • Step 3: Combine jalapeno, crushed garlic (NOT the cloves you just peeled), sausages and baking mix in food processor. Process until well combined.

  • Step 4: Add cheese and process until just combined.

  • Step 5: Shape mixture into balls.

  • Step 6: Press a peeled garlic clove into the center of each ball.

  • Step 7: Place on ungreased baking sheet.

  • Step 8: Bake 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

  • Step 9: These may be frozen after shaping. Bake them without thawing, but increase time an additional 5-10 minutes.
