Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 medium yellow onion (I used frozen)
  • 6 large garlic loves (fine chopped)
  • 2 medium carrots (peeled, diced)
  • 2 celery stalks (diced-optional)
  • 1 tablespoon beef bouillon powder (I like to add it for more intense flavor but you could omit)
  • 1 can (28 ounce) tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can (16 ounce) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (16 ounce) great northern beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 container (26 ounce) beef stock
  • 1 jar (25 ounce) pasta sauce
  • 2 teaspoons dry oregano
  • 2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Salt, to taste
  • 7 ounces dry shell pasta (1 cup dry small shell pasta or macaroni pasta, cooked after you measure it)
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese (more to serve at table)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook the beef and sausage meat in a skillet with onion and garlic until browned; drain fat.

  • Step 2: Add cooked beef & sausage and all the other ingredients (except pasta) to slow cooker. Cook on low 8 hours or on high 4 hours. Add cooked pasta at the end of cooking and heat through.

  • Step 3: Serve with lots more parmesan cheese.
