Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup butter (absolutely no substitutes!)
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar (have a sweet tooth, then increase to 1 1/2 cups)
  • 2 egg yolks (from large or extra-large eggs)
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract (can use up to 1 tablespoon if you like)
  • 2 tablespoons Jell-O instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoos baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Sugar, for coating

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a mixing bowl cream the butter with sugar for about 2 minutes.

  • Step 2: Add in egg yolks, vanilla and dry pudding mix; beat for about 2 minutes.

  • Step 3: In a small bowl combine the flour with baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture and beat until well combined (mixture will be crumbly at first).

  • Step 4: Chill dough for about 3 hours.

  • Step 5: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 6: Grease a large baking sheet.

  • Step 7: Pour about 1/2 cup sugar into a bowl.

  • Step 8: Roll a heaping teaspoonful of cookie dough in the sugar, then place onto baking sheet leaving about 2 inches between the dough (these cookie spread while baking).

  • Step 9: Bake for about 8 minutes (for a crispier cookie bake longer).
