Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (plain)
  • 2 tablespoons self-rising flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
  • 125 grams butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh grated parmesan cheese
  • 125 grams grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

How to Make

  • Step 1: Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl, rub in butter and grated cheeses; mix to a soft dough with the lemon juice.

  • Step 2: Shape the mixture into a roll 38cm (15in) long, wrap in greaseproof paper, then in aluminium foil; refrigerate for a least 3 hors.

  • Step 3: Cut roll into slices 5mm (1/4in) thick and place on lightly greased oven trays.

  • Step 4: Bake in moderate oven for 15 minutes or until brown.

  • Step 5: Cool on trays and serve.
