Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 370 grams dry rice (white long grain rice, 2 cups uncooked)
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 cups water (boiling, may add chicken bouillon to taste for extra flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 cup yellow onion chopped
  • 2 cups celery, diced
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds (May add up to 1 cup)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or to taste)
  • Dash pepper (I use more)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon ground sage (optional)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In heavy pan over medium heat melt butter add rice stirring until golden brown.

  • Step 2: In a large pot on low heat add boiling water, onions, celery, the browned rice, salt, pepper and thyme.

  • Step 3: Simmer until water is absorbed and rice.

  • Step 4: Always stuff your turkey just before roasting.
