  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans or mixed)
  • ICING
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 cups confectioners' sugar
  • Salt, dash(es)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly coat a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.

  • FOR THE BROWNIES

  • Step 2: Mix all ingredients well, and pour into prepared pan.

  • Step 3: Bake for 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees F. Check brownies after 20 minutes.

  • Step 4: Cool brownies in pan.

  • FOR THE ICING

  • Step 5: Mix all ingredients together until smooth. Add more milk, a little at a time, if icing is too thick. Ice brownies before cutting.
