Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 1/4 pounds apples (6 granny smith, cored and sliced)
  • 1 cup raisins (golden)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons applejack (or apple juice)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
  • FOR THE TOPPING
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Butter a deep dish pie pan (9 inches or so).

  • Step 3: Toss the first 7 ingredients (apples - cinnamon) in a bowl and put into prepared pan. Sprinkle the pecans over.

  • Step 4: To make the topping: blend all ingredients together until crumbly (this can be done by hand using two knives or in a food processor) and sprinkle over the apples.

  • Step 5: Bake for 50-60 minutes or until brown and bubbly.
