Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 box (18 ounce) cake mix (orange flavor, or read my *comments in the description)
  • 3 large eggs (or as called for by your cake mix)
  • 1/3 cup oil (or as called for by your cake mix)
  • 1 1/3 cups water (or as called for by your cake mix, or orange soda, or read my *comments in the description)
  • 1 box (6 ounce) Jell-O gelatin (orange flavor, mixed first with 1 1/2 cups boiling water to dissolve granules, then 1 cup ice water to thicken)
  • FOR THE FROSTING
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 box (3 1/2 ounce) vanilla instant pudding mix
  • 1 box (3 1/2 ounce) Jell-O gelatin (orange flavor)
  • 1 cup light cream (half and half cream)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tub (8 ounce) Cool Whip frozen topping, thawed

How to Make

  • Step 1: Bake cake as instructed on the box in 9x13-inch pan.

  • Step 2: When baked and cooled, poke holes all over cake with meat fork.

  • Step 3: Mix large box of Jello with the 1 1/2 cups boiled water then 1 cup iced water, let it est for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened. Slowly pour over the cooled cake and allow to run into holes all over cake.

  • Step 4: Chill cake until Jello is set (1 hour).

  • FOR THE FROSTING

  • Step 5: In large bowl, cream the cheese until creamy.

  • Step 6: Add the dry Jello powder, pudding mix, milk and the vanilla extract; beat well. Gently fold in Cool Whip. Spread on cake. Place in refrigerator until you are ready to serve it.
