Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound dry spiral pasta
  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 1 large yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
  • 2 jars (26 ounce) spaghetti sauce (your favorite sauce)
  • 3/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 to 3 cups mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1/2 pound pepperoni (pizza pepperoni)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook pasta according to packaging directions, (I cook it only halfway because it finishes cooking and gets more soft in the oven). Drain pasta and set aside.

  • Step 2: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook sausage meat and onion until meat is browned. Drain grease. Season with salt and pepper, garlic powder, basil and oregano. Mix in spaghetti sauce and cooked pasta. Simmer for around 15 minutes. Pour sausage and pasta mixture into baking dish. Top with parmesan cheese.

  • Step 3: Evenly spread mozzarella cheese over the top then lay pepperoni slices over top.

  • Step 4: Place baking dish in oven and bake for 40 minutes, or until cheese melted and bubbly and dish is warmed through.
