Step 1: To prepare fruit; sort and wash, remove pits, and cut into pieces - measure until you have 4 (or a bit more) cups.
Step 2: Place cherries into a large pot. Add pectin and mix well.
Step 3: Turn heat on high and , stirring constantly, bring quickly to a full boil.
Step 4: Add sugar, continue stirring until a full boil is reached.
Step 5: Boil hard for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Step 6: Remove the foam from the top with a spoon.
Step 7: Fill and seal the containers.
Step 8: Process 10 minutes in a boiling water bath ( please use canning instructions).
