Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 6 ounces pork loins (two loins, 3 ounce each)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cup shredded cabbage (white, finely shredded)
  • 2 tablespoons tonkatsu sauce
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Take your 4 slices of bread and remove the crusts, then lightly butter before adding a layer of shredded cabbage to two of them.

  • Step 2: To make the actual tonkatsu, remove all of the fat from the pork loins, coat in a layer of flour, egg, then finally panko breadcrumbs before deep-frying in oil.

  • Step 3: Instead of cutting your tonkatsu into thin slices as you normally would, leave whole and place one on each sandwich.

  • Step 4: Top with a generous dollop of tonkatsu sauce, and slap your other two slices of bread on top before cutting diagonally to finish.
