Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 Chayotes, about 1 1/2 to 2 pounds, pared and seeded
  • 2 medium white onions, cut the onions into 1/4 inch slivers
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat the butter and oil in a skillet, medium heat, saute the onions until golden 8-10 minutes, sprinkle in the oregano

  • Step 2: Add choyote, saute 3 minutes, cover and continue cooking for approximately 8 minutes or until the chayote is crisp tender. Do not over cook.

  • Step 3: Season with salt and pepper
