  • 30 ounces peas and carrots, save liquids (2 cans - 15 oz each)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a cooking pot, heat the vegetable oil and fry the onions on high heat until golden and soft.

  • Step 2: Add the garlic and meat.

  • Step 3: Stir on medium heat until the meat is cooked.

  • Step 4: Add the peas and carrots to the pot after draining them from the water in the can.

  • Step 5: Add salt, black pepper and the tomato paste then add enough water (or save the vegetable liquid) to cover the pot ingredients.

  • Step 6: Cover the pot and let it simmer for 20 min on low heat.

  • Step 7: Serve with vermicelli rice.
