  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/4 cups flaked coconut
  • 3/4 cup almonds (coarsely chopped)
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3/4 cup melted butter (1 1/2 sticks, or margarine, not diet)
  • 4 large eggs (slightly beaten)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly coat a 9 x 13 inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

  • Step 2: Thoroughly mix all dry ingredients (sugar through salt) in a large bowl.

  • Step 3: Stir in extract, melted butter or margarine and eggs; Mix until completely blended. Spread batter in prepared baking pan.

  • Step 4: Bake for 30 minutes.

  • Step 5: Cool completely in pan, then cut into 2-inch squares.
