Step 1: Boil kale in salted water for 10 minutes; drain.
Step 2: Soak bread rolls; squeeze dry.
Step 3: Chop the kale and rolls together finely.
Step 4: Add flour, egg, onion, salt and pepper and enough crumbs to make a stiff dough.
Step 5: Form into patties.
Step 6: Roll into remaining bread crumbs; brown in shortening.
