  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 2 teaspoons lime zest, finely chopped (peel)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons poppy seeds
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 1/2 ounces pistachio nuts (2/3 cup, finely chopped)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cream sugars with fats.

  • Step 2: Add the next eight ingredients; mix well.

  • Step 3: Divide dough into 2 seven inch rolls; cover and chill overnight.

  • Step 4: Preheat oven to 375°F.

  • Step 5: Brush with two tablespoons milk, roll in poppy seeds then pistachios, and cut into 1/4 inch slices.

  • Step 6: Places slices 1 inch apart on a baking sheet.

  • Step 7: Bake at 375 degree for 8 minutes, keeping a close watch as they are easily scorched.
