Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 package (10 ounce) baby spinach
  • Olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano, divided
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce (hickory flavoured)
  • 4 ounces crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey I use a mix of turkey and chicken)
  • Grill seasoning (your favorite)
  • BBQ sauce (to brush on while grilling)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Microwave the spinach until wilted.

  • Step 2: Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and chopped red onion and cook 5 minutes. Transfer the onions and garlic to a bowl to cool.

  • Step 3: Squeeze moisture from the spinach, place on a cutting board then coarsely chop. add spinach into a large mixing bowl, toss with the onions-garlic mixture, 1 teaspoon of oregano, seasoned salt and pepper, then mix in BBQ sauce. Add in feta crumbles and turkey, mix until combined.

  • Step 4: Shape into 4 patties. Place on a plate cover and refrigerate for 2 hours or more, better for 24 hours.

  • Step 5: Place patties on the grill. Season with grill seasoning. Grill the patties until completely cooked through, basting with BBQ sauce while grilling
