Step 1: Melt butter in a large nonstick skillet and set aside to cool slightly.
Step 2: In a medium mixing bowl, beat the eggs. Beat in the milk.
Step 3: Add the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix until just combined. Add corn, cheese and melted butter from skillet and mix just until combined.
Step 4: Heat the same skillet over medium heat until hot.
Step 5: Drop batter by 1/4 cupfuls onto the hot skillet and cook until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.
Step 6: Repeat with the remaining batter.
Step 7: Serve hot with syrup
