Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 can (15 ounce) lima beans (drained)
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon green pepper, minced
  • 10 saltine crackers (crushed)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup oil

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a bowl mash drained butter beans; add egg, cheese, onion, green pepper, saltine crackers, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix.

  • Step 2: Divide into 4 patties.

  • Step 3: Heat oil in a skillet.

  • Step 4: Use more or less oil to reach 1/4 inch depth in pan. Make sure oil is hot.

  • Step 5: Fry patties on each side until golden, about 5 minutes. (I bet I take less time, lol).
