  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (for dredge)
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cups oil (cooking oil)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 yellow onions, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Tenderize venison and cut into serving pieces.

  • Step 2: Dredge meat into 1 cup flour and brown in hot oil in cast iron skillet. Remove meat when browned. Stir 3 tablespoons flour into oil and gradually add 2 cups milk. Cook until thick,

  • Step 3: Add seasonings and browned steak. Place onion slices on top of steak.

  • Step 4: Gravy should cover steak and onions.

  • Step 5: Cover and bake at 250 to 300 degrees for 2 hours.
