Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 6 ounces dry spaghetti pasta
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 large eggs (well beaten)
  • 1 cup cottage cheese (or Ricotta)
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small yellow onion
  • 1/2 green bell pepper
  • 1 can (8 ounce) diced tomatoes
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook spaghetti as directed on package, Drain, set aside in a bowl.

  • Step 2: In a small bowl combine together, the melted butter, garlic salt, Parmesan cheese and eggs. Add to the cooked spaghetti, mix with your hands to thoroughly combine.

  • Step 3: Press noodle mixture into the bottom of a greased deep-dish 10 inch pie pan.

  • Step 4: Spread cottage cheese over spaghetti.

  • Step 5: In a skillet, cook and brown the ground beef with onion, garlic and green pepper. Drain off excess fat.

  • Step 6: Add diced tomatoes, paste, sugar, spices to the meat mixture.

  • Step 7: Stir to combine, then simmer for 25 minutes. Add salt and pepper.

  • Step 8: Spoon the meat sauce over the cottage cheese.

  • Step 9: Bake in oven at 350 for 20 minutes.

  • Step 10: Sprinkle on mozzarella cheese and bake 5 more minutes.

  • Step 11: Slice and Enjoy!
