Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 11 ounces raisins (2 cups black raisins)
  • 11 ounces raisins (2 cup golden raisins
  • 1 cup brewed tea (boiling, strong)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup orange marmalade (optional)
  • 1/4 cup Ovaltine (optional)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Put the first 4 ingredients into a mixing bowl and leave overnight.

  • Step 2: The next day add the last 4 ingredients, you can add the marmalade or the ovaltine here if you wish and mix well together.

  • Step 3: Bake at 300 degrees in a greased bread tin for 1-1 1/2 hours.

  • Step 4: Cool and serve.

  • Step 5: Cut into slices and buttered.

  • Step 6: This loaf improves with keeping if stored in an airtight container.
