Step 1: If using dried chickpeas, drain and transfer to a large saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring to boil, simmer for 45 minutes or until tender. Drain and leave to cool. Now follow the rest of the recipe.
Step 2: Blend the chickpeas, garlic, slat, tahini, lemon juice and the olive oil in a small blender or food processor until smooth, taste for seasoning. Adjust as per taste.
Step 3: Transfer to a bowl, drizzle with a little more olive oil and sprinkle with a little paprika.
Step 4: Serve with toasted Turkish bread, pita bread, crackers or toasts.
