Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 400 grams garbanzo beans (drained and rinsed OR 200gr dried chickpeas, soaked overnight in 1 litre water)
  • 1 garlic clove, small
  • 1/4 teaspoon table salt
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 lemon, juice of
  • 80 ml olive oil (extra virgin, plus extra for drizzling)
  • Paprika (pinch of)
  • FOR SERVING
  • Turkish bread
  • Pita breads
  • Crackers or toasts

How to Make

  • DRIED CHICKPEA INTSRUCTIONS

  • Step 1: If using dried chickpeas, drain and transfer to a large saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring to boil, simmer for 45 minutes or until tender. Drain and leave to cool. Now follow the rest of the recipe.

  • Step 2: Blend the chickpeas, garlic, slat, tahini, lemon juice and the olive oil in a small blender or food processor until smooth, taste for seasoning. Adjust as per taste.

  • Step 3: Transfer to a bowl, drizzle with a little more olive oil and sprinkle with a little paprika.

  • Step 4: Serve with toasted Turkish bread, pita bread, crackers or toasts.
