Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • Lilacs (50-60 violet flower clusters of with fragrance, you can mix species)
  • 3 lemons
  • 2.5 liters of water
  • 1.8 kg granulated sugar
  • 60 gram citric acid
  • 9 drops blue food coloring

How to Make

  • Step 1: Put flower bunches clean in cold water, swish them around then take off the stem,

  • Step 2: Cut the lemons into thin slices.

  • Step 3: Boil the water.

  • Step 4: Place the flowers, sugar and citric acid in a clean jug.

  • Step 5: Pour water over the petals. Add lemons and stir gently.

  • Step 6: Cover with plastic film and let the pot cool for 5 days. Cover with plate to keep everything down.

  • Step 7: Stir the pot now and then.

  • Step 8: Sieve juice and mix any blue food coloring in.

  • Step 9: Pour the juice in clean bottles.

  • Step 10: Store the bottles in cool place.
