Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F.
Step 2: Sift flour and baking powder together and set aside.
Step 3: Combine cardamom, salt and butter.
Step 4: Gradually blend in sugar.
Step 5: Beat in eggs.
Step 6: Gradually stir in flour mixture.
Step 7: Drop by rounded teaspoons 2" apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
Step 8: Flatten tops by pressing with the bottom of a glass covered with a damp cloth.
Step 9: Sprinkle tops with sugar and coconut.
Step 10: Bake until edges are lightly browned, about 8-10 minutes.
Step 11: Cool on sheets 1 minute, then remove to a rack.
Step 12: Store in an airtight container.
