Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter (6 ounces)
  • 5 ounces chocolate (good quality plain chocolate, broken into small pieces, 150 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 9 ounces graham crackers (crushed to make fine crumbs)
  • 3.5 ounces walnuts, chopped (1 cup/100 grams)
  • 7 ounces raisins (2 cups/200 grams)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

How to Make

  • Step 1: Put the butter, chocolate and syrup in a small pan and heat gently until the butter and chocolate have melted. Leave to cool.

  • Step 2: Place the graham crumbs, the melted butter and the remaining ingredients in a bowl, and mix thoroughly. Spread the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch dish. Press down with a fork.

  • Step 3: When the mixture is completely cool, cover with cling film and refrigerate for at least two hours. When it is firm, cut it into squares, which should then be returned to the fridge.
