Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 225 grams gruyere cheese (finely grated)
  • 40 grams butter
  • 2 cups fresh breadcrumbs
  • 3 large eggs
  • Salt and pepper
  • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs (dry)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Melt butter in pan over low heat.

  • Step 2: In a bowl mix the fresh breadcrumbs. melted butter, grated cheese 2 of the eggs and salt and pepper. Mix really well with a fork, then form into small balls about the size of a walnut.

  • Step 3: Beat remaining egg with fork.

  • Step 4: Dip balls into eggs and then dried breadcrumbs to coat well. Place balls in fridge, whilst heating oil.

  • Step 5: Heat oil until hot.

  • Step 6: Fry the balls/croquettes in the oil a few at a time, until golden in colour.

  • Step 7: Remove with slotted spoon and place on absorbent towel to absorb excess oil.

  • Step 8: Serve hot.
