Step 1: Combine butter and sugar over low hear in saucepan and cook until smooth.
Step 2: Remove from heat and cool to lukewarm.
Step 3: Add egg and beat well.
Step 4: Stir in flour, baking powder, vanilla and nuts until well mixed.
Step 5: Pour into ungreased 8 x 8 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes.
Step 6: Allow to cool before trying to cut.
