Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (juice of 1 lime)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (to 1 teaspoon)
  • 4 bananas (firm, peeled)
  • 1/3 cup rum (dark)
  • 4 scoops (2 cups) ice cream

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a small bowl combine sugar, melted butter, lime juice, and cinnamon.

  • Step 2: Brush bananas with about 1/4 cup of butter mixture.

  • Step 3: Place bananas on center of cooking grate.

  • Step 4: Grill 2 to 4 minutes, turning once halfway through grilling.

  • Step 5: Slice grilled bananas and place slices in a flameproof dish.

  • Step 6: Pour remaining 1/2 cup butter mixture into dish.

  • Step 7: Place dish on center of cooking grate. Cook 5 minutes.

  • Step 8: Remove dish from grill.

  • Step 9: Quickly pour rum over bananas. Light rum with long kitchen matches.

  • Step 10: After flames die out, serve immediately over ice cream.
