Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 12 slices baguette (12 ounces) bread (1/2-inch slices)
  • 3 tablespoons butter, separated
  • 2 cups chopped (12 ounces) sweet onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons chopped fresh rosemary (or 3/4 teaspoon, dried, ground)
  • 1 cup grated parmesan (or swiss cheese grated)
  • Salt & pepper to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium heat.

  • Step 2: Add onions, saute stirring fregently until the onions are golden (apprx 15 minutes)..

  • Step 3: Add rosemary & stir

  • Step 4: Season with salt & pepper.

  • Step 5: Pre-heat oven to 375f.

  • Step 6: Lightly butter one side of the bread.

  • Step 7: Place bread slices buttered side down on an oven proof tray.

  • Step 8: Cover the bread slices with the prepared onions.

  • Step 9: Sprinkle on the cheese, be generous.

  • Step 10: Bake for apprx 10 minutes or until the cheese is golden/or bubbly.

  • Step 11: Serve warm.
