Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 400 grams rigatoni
  • 120 grams sausage
  • 1 medium yellow onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • 200 grams ground beef
  • 200 grams diced tomatoes
  • 100 grams bread
  • 50 grams milk
  • 2 eggplants
  • 200 grams mozzarella cheese
  • 100 grams mortadella
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a pan with olive oil, place onion, basil, tomatoes, salt and cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes.

  • Step 2: Mean while shred the sausage, chopped the mortadella and set aside.

  • Step 3: Mix the ground meat with bread soaked in milk, sausage and a pinch of salt and make some small meatballs.

  • Step 4: Cut eggplant into strips and fry in a pan with olive oil.

  • Step 5: Cut the mozzarella into pieces.

  • Step 6: Cook the rigatoni in salted water, al dente and strain.

  • Step 7: In a greased baking dish put a layer of rigatoni and cover with half of all ingredients including meatballs, add a second layer with the remaining rigatoni and finish the rest of the ingredients.

  • Step 8: Bake at 200 degrees for twenty minutes.
