Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 large yellow onion (sliced finely)
  • 1 kg beef cheek meat
  • 5 tomatoes (Roma, grated)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1/3 cup red wine
  • 1 litre beef stock
  • 4 large potatoes (peeled and cut in half)
  • Beans (steamed to serve)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Wash beef cheeks and place aside.

  • Step 2: Put the slow-cooker on low and place the olive oil in then place the garlic and onion in and stir for a few seconds to coat and then add the beef cheeks.

  • Step 3: Add the tomatoes and sugar and mix well before you add the parsley, salt and pepper, wine and the beef stock - you can add more stock if you like.

  • Step 4: I you like you can add the potatoes in the slow cooker or you can steam them with the beans.

  • Step 5: Let cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.

  • Step 6: You can serve the meat with a greek salad or a salad of your choice or the steamed potatoes and green beans or the steamed green beans with the potatoes cooked in the crock pot with the beef cheeks.
