Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 4 (1 pound) boneless pork loin chops (or rib, 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 medium yellow onion (halved lengthwise and thinly sliced)
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Sprinkle chops with black pepper and salt.

  • Step 2: In a large skillet heat oil over medium heat. Cook chops in hot oil for 3 to 4 minutes per side, until brown on outside and cooked through, turning once. Remove chops from skillet; cover and keep warm.

  • Step 3: For sauce, in same skillet cook and stir onion over medium heat for 2-3 minutes or until tender.

  • Step 4: Add orange juice, brown sugar and red pepper flakes to skillet. Cook and stir for 1 minute or until sugar is dissolved.

  • Step 5: Spoon hot onion sauce over chops.

  • Step 6: Serve with steamed green beans, broccoli, or peas.
