Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 package (1 1/4 ounce) dry onion soup mix ( Lipton Savory Herb with Garlic dry soup mix)
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (firmly packed)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons oil (vegetable oil)
  • 2 pounds yellow onions (4 large, thinly sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional for its smoky flavor)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large bowl, combine Lipton Savory Herb w/Garlic Dry Soup Mix, ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar & oil. Add onions & toss to coat.

  • Step 2: Place onion mixture in a foil bag, double fold open end of bag to seal & cut a small vent in 1 end of the bag so the contents will not escape when the bag is turned.

  • Step 3: Grill Method: Grill 25 min or until onions are tender (carefully turning bag over halfway thru cooking).

  • Step 4: Oven Method: Preheat oven to 450F. Place foil bag in large baking pan on bottom rack & bake 45 min or until onions are tender (carefully turning bag over halfway thru cooking).
